Building Faith, Family, and Future

Bill Fuerstenau, Principal

Meet Mr. Fuerstenau, a Wisconsin native. His education included WELS schools in Caledonia, WI, Indianapolis, and Jackson, WI. After graduating from Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School, he enrolled at UW Eau Claire. There, he met Beth, his future wife. Together, they made the decision to transfer to Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN, with a shared goal of becoming teachers.

Bill served in WELS schools in Montello and Hustisford, WI where he gained experience in the WELSSA self-study and Wisconsin Parental Choice Program. He earned a Master's degree in Educational Administration with a principal emphasis from Martin Luther College just before he joined our Emanuel team in 2021. Bill continues to be excited about the opportunity to serve the families in New London and loves to partner with parents in their children’s education.

He and Beth have three children: Oliver, Hannah, and Liam. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family, hunting, fishing, and watching the Packers.

Michelle graduated from Martin Luther College in 2001 and served for two years in Fond du Lac, WI. The Lord led Michelle and her husband, Mark, to a farm outside Manawa. There they raise cattle and their five boys, whom they count as their greatest blessings.

In 2020, Michelle earned a master’s degree in Educational Administration with an emphasis in early childhood from MLC.

When not at Emanuel, Michelle enjoys her family on the farm, camping, and cheering for her boys’ sports teams.

She enjoys the challenges that each year brings and looks forward to working with the children, families, and staff at Emanuel.

She also enjoys country music, board games, playing Sheephead (yes, that’s the only way to say it), and the occasional snowstorm.

One of her favorite Bible passages is Psalm 126:3: The LORD has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy. Kristy realizes that God has blessed her life in more ways than she can count. She is very honored to be able to share His Word every day with her students.
