Mission and Purpose:

Emanuel Lutheran School assists the church to reach, teach, and disciple families in Christ.

“Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.” This is God’s directive and promise from Proverbs 22:6. For over 100 years, families from the New London area have looked to Emanuel Lutheran School to assist in drawing their children into an ever-closer relationship with Jesus. ELS exists to assist in carrying out this directive by partnering with parents in raising the next generation to know Jesus.

Our school is committed to maintaining a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. To achieve this, we create and evaluate three-year goals and one-year strategic plans, which are available for review in the school office. These plans are implemented with the aim of advancing our objectives.

We do this by

  • Teaching the life-changing message of Jesus

  • Assisting students in developing a deep, personal, and enduring relationship with Christ, as faithful followers for life

  • Collaborating with families as partners in education

  • Cherishing every child as a distinctive individual, who is a divine blessing

  • Nurturing students to develop as faithful and dedicated followers of the Savior

  • Imparting the resilience of Christian ethics and morals

  • Offering occasions for students to apply their learning

  • Establishing a secure and organized atmosphere to enhance learning

  • Utilizing age-appropriate and research-backed instruction and curriculum to equip and ready students

“We are humble, bold, and different for a purpose.”

“If you call on the Father who judges impartially, according to the work of each person, conduct yourselves during the time of your pilgrimage in reverence, because you know that you were redeemed from your empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers, not with things that pass away, such as silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ, like a lamb without blemish or spot. He was chosen before the foundation of the world but revealed in these last times for your sake. Through him you are believers in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.” -1 Peter 1:17-21
